Artist Overview & Representation Inquiry

Rooted in the Magic Realist and Visionary art traditions, my work explores emergence and self-realization through multi-dimensional painted collage. Using layered assemblage techniques, I delve into mythic storytelling and shamanic symbolism to examine themes of Eros, Death, and Spiritual Quest.
With a career spanning over four decades, my artistic journey began in the late 1970s through the medium of collage. My practice remains active and evolving in New Mexico, where I continue to create work that blurs dimensional boundaries and invites deep reflection. I’ve been honored with a residency at the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program and received recognition including an Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts grant and Best of Show at the 31st Annual International Juried Art Exhibition at the Roswell Museum.
My work has been exhibited widely and is held in several public collections, including the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Albuquerque Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Capitol Arts Collection in Santa Fe. In 2023, the National Hispanic Cultural Center acquired works from my solo exhibition Fantasía Fantástica: Imaginative Spaces and Other-Worldly Collage for their permanent collection.
I welcome inquiries from galleries, curators, and institutions interested in representation or collaboration.

Metaphormations
Having begun my artistic career painting and drawing, in the late 70’s I began experimenting with the medium of collage. My early work began with simple, small flat collages. Over time, the technical demands have challenged me to evolve and refine unique techniques to communicate that visual language. Some works have required several years of single-minded effort to bring to completion.
Allied to visionary and mystical pathways, my work feeds my questing need to make sense of life’s purpose. It is my heartfelt desire to give visual dialogue to those levels beyond personal symbols that will speak of the complexities of modern life in an age of incomprehensible madness.
I believe the collage medium is a largely misunderstood, yet incredible visual tool to stimulate imaginative awakenings. After 40 years, I still find the collage medium fresh and innovative. I find its ability to communicate metaphorical language of man’s inner spiritual search ~ limitless.
I welcome this opportunity to share the fruits of many years. May your own imagination be sumptuously fed!”
